The Species at Risk 2004 Conference will provide many opportunities to socialize, network and enjoy yourself. Conference events will encompass art, music, public lectures and great food and drink.

Welcome Reception
March 2, 7:30 pm to 10:30pm
The conference reception will take place in the Royal British Columbia Museum, 675 Belleville St.. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be a no host bar. Evergreen Theatre from Calgary will present their hour-long "On the Brink: The Endangered Species Show" during the reception and Gordon de Frane of the Chemainus Nation will tell stories about local wildlife in the Totem Gallery.

Public Lectures
March 2, 8:00pm-9:00pm
Dr. Richard Hebda will present a public lecture entitled "Surviving the Big Squeeze: Climate Change and The Future of Species At Risk" focused on climate change and implications for the future of species at risk.

March 3, 8:00pm-9:00pm
Dr. Thomas E. Lovejoy will present a public lecture entitled "Teaming with Life" focusing on how we relate to life on earth. Dr. Lovejoy's biography is available on the Keynote Speaker's page.

Art Show
March 2 through 5, 2004
The Conference Art Show will feature the work of Michael Hames, the Species at Risk 2004 Conference Artist. There will be works for sale through Thunderbird Gallery(http://www.thunderbirdgallery.com/) who will have representatives at the show.

Conference Banquet
March 4, 2004

The Conference Banquet will be prepared by the chefs of the Fairmont Empress Hotel with fresh local ingredients and Pacific Northwest regional flare.
